Cape Point Nature Reserve

The day at the Cape Point Nature Reserve was definitely an eventful one. It had been my first time at Cape Point and it was super awesome!! When the day started the weather didn't look to good, as if was about to rain heavily any second. The bus trip was about 2 hours and when we arrived there, it was super windy and cold but I got really excited when i saw the beach and the huge hills. My friends and i walked around and took pictures of the views. We then boarded the bus again and drove towards the reserve. We started hiking at the first hill and saw many different plants and insects it was amazing, we stopped to take pictures at a point but the wind was extremely strong. There were times where we even had to hold on to each other because it felt as if the wind was about to blow us away.

The lecturers then called us back because it was getting misty and we then went to the beach to take pictures of the beautiful views. We then boarded the bus again and was on board to the lighthouse. The trip to the light house was quick but i had a bad headache and luckily one of my friends brought pills along which helped a lot. After getting off the bus we decided to hike up to the lighthouse and on the way we saw quite a few baboons which were just chilling and eating condoms haha. The walk up to the lighthouse was crrraaap exhausting because it was uphill like all the way but nevertheless it was fun and we managed to take pictures along the way. When we finally arrived at the lighthouse, the views of the sea were amaaazing! It was also my first time at a lighthouse so yeah it was really cool. A few of my friends and i then decided to go on another trail which wound all around the lighthouse, half of us didnt go all the way because one of my friends didnt want to because of the time (not mentioning names) *cough cough* lol. We then waited for the others but decided to go back because it was nearing the time to go home. We then ran down and i got tired so i stopped and walked the way back to the bus alone :( lol. By the time i got back to the bus i was sooo exhausted and hot (despite the sucky weather).

The drive home was long but I really enjoyed myself and would definitely love to go back as the Cape Point Nature Reserve is definitely a beautiful place with amazing views and not forgetting the wide variety of the fauna and flora. This was also the first time i had gone out with my varsity friends and it was a crazy and awesome experience. However, the sucky weather gave me a really bad cold and sore chest:'(. Oh well, at least I can say that it was really worth it:)
